Club Sports provide opportunities for student to build community through competition against other colleges or universities. Student leaders is empowered to provide impactful, inclusive and fun experiences for all members. Being a club sport athlete provides opportunities to meet new people, find a support system, and get involved in opportunities that develop life skills and help discover passions.
We offer 38 clubs in coed, men's and women's competition. Our teams have won 79 national championships. Come join one of the best programs in the nation with GVSU Club Sports! Anchor Up!
GVSU Esports offers impactful gaming experiences for all students, faculty and staff through competitive and drop-in opportunities. The Laker Esports Center (LEC) is located on the bottom floor of the Kirkhof Center and is open daily for drop-in gaming on our 23 gaming setups available for use with 19 games offered.
The esports club is where casual and competitive gamers at GVSU play. Members have the opportunity to compete against colleges and universities around the country, participate in community events, and take on leadership opportunities that support them to pursue a career in esports/gaming.

Intramural Sports events are for all skill levels in an inclusive, fun, and recreational environment. Participants can join coed, men's, women's, or open competition and typically play 1-2 games a week per sport.

Our spirit programs build community and help support the entire campus in their passion to be a Laker. The program provides support across campus to help bring the Laker spirit to everyone. The cheer and the dance teams also train year round to compete competitively, providing impactful experiences for all team members. The program also is the home for the univeristy mascot, Louie.
